Every year in the spring it becomes time to pick strawberries. The season runs a little late this far north, but we missed last year. For me, this was as much a part of my childhood memories as apple picking in the fall.
We would go picking strawberries with my grandfather and he would make strawberry jam that would go into the freezer and last us the whole year. It’s my favorite jam/jelly and after he passed I continued the tradition of making it.
So today we pick strawberries, and this weekend or sometime during the week I need to make the jam.
