I am really a fan of referral links. I post them frequently and The Toolbox holds them all in one place, but everywhere I turn, things want a price online.
I’ve talked about the multitude of places I post content in the 24 social media accounts article, but it goes deeper than that. At least two friends have asked me about using Substack. I post some of my articles as summaries that link to the blog, and I “note” which is tweeting but on Substack, every day which also links back here. The thing is, Substack wants you to offer subscriptions to content. They want people to pay to see your articles. Even Bluestack and WordPress encourage this.

This isn’t just a ‘them’ thing either. It’s all over the place. Everywhere is a subscription. When I look into how to increase newsletter sign ups or drive traffic to my site every answer is sell a product, sell a subscription, lock content behind a paywall. I don’t think that’s the answer.
I do this for two reasons, the first is education. I truly believe that financial literacy and frugality are vital parts of a successful life that anyone is capable of doing, but many lack the knowledge to start. Second, I do this for me. I want to hold myself accountable for investing, growing my skills, even exercising. This blog and the views that have been increasing steadily over these two months motivate me to continue.

Google ads may eventually cover website costs, I can’t complain I broke $0.50 recently, but as we discussed previously Hosting and Domain costs aren’t free. $80 a year.
I have every confidence that by producing content I will reach monetization. Youtube, X, Blog, etc. But for all current and future visitors. I do want to self promote.
ZERO OBLIGATIONS and I repeat ZERO OBLIGATIONS. If you enjoy my content. I have a Patreon. This would help in both website costs and the creation of more blog content. If it takes off, I would probably look into some kind of member rewards. It’s 1 tier, $1/month. I know that same $1 could save you $3 in taxes in an IRA, or turn into $76 over five years in VOO. I’m not asking you to prioritize me over your own snowball—only to join if you have an extra ‘mini’ bit of change to spare.
Another way to help out is by using my Amazon link.
Legally: As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.
If you use my Amazon Associate Link I gain a commission on your first purchase (including an entire cart) within a 24 hour window. The price never goes up for you, but I get support. If you buy twice in one day, the cookie is dead and you have to click the link again.

I even got my first one before this article was written.
I appreciate everyone who is enjoying my content and hopefully learning something new. Please continue to support even if it’s only reading the posts. Continue to grow your investments and stick to your budgets.
