Yesterday’s Frugal Friday Post talked about Garage Sales. Specifically one for a major animal shelter in my area. I think for many this is a great time of year to think about the mentality of donating.
Each month I try to discuss some way of helping out your local community. This month I discovered a city program that helps pay for exterior repair on houses. It can redo driveways or put in new energy-efficient windows, or help with siding projects.
My kids have been helping with spring cleaning and getting clothes that don’t fit them out of their closets. Normally we donate to Goodwill because it’s easier, but really we should be donating to that sale at the shelter, or look for other places that would take in clothes and old toys.
I think that Spring is one of the best times to clean out a house because it allows fresh air and fresh minds. While we do like to focus on side hustles and income generation, I think sometimes it’s better to give things you’ve finished with away. Happy Spring Everyone.
