Each month I like to go over any community events I’ve dealt with. These don’t have to be things I got to do, they could be adjacent, but I feel that strong in person communities are something that’s been lacking in the last decade or so around this country.
This month flew by, I’m not even sure where it all went. I guess I’ll start off with some success stories. My son has been extra involved in school this year as a Cheerleader, a Student Council Member, being on the new Newspaper, and in the school play. I think he’s been doing a phenomenal job being a leader and positive role model at his school.
While my son is giving of his time, my youngest is always wanting to buy her friends things with her own money. We’re still working on understanding that there are much better ways to show your friends appreciation than buying them stuff, but her heart is always in the right place.
Me, well I had a very good friend ask for some help moving. He group messaged a bunch of us, and I always enjoy helping people move, so I was excited to do it. The issue was that it happened on a weekday, which was alright as I was fine taking the time off of work. The problem arose because I had a tooth pulled on Monday last week. I then got a fever and got really sick for a few days and couldn’t help move a single thing.
Sometimes, just being asked shows you you’re a part of a community though. I hope everyone has a lovely June.
