Frugality doesn’t need to be just sitting at home pinching pennies. I know last Friday I also talked about fast food and eating out, but this one is a little different.
We occasionally take our family of five to a local pizza chain that does an all you can eat buffet on Wednesday evenings. They charge $7 a person. Since we just went over Sales Tax yesterday, I want to point out that my local area has a total sales tax of 7.5% (5.75% State, and 1.75% County). This brings a total visit with for our family, two of which are teenagers, to $37.63. Now we can definitely cook at home cheaper than that, but a family member had sent us a $25 gift card to this restaurant as a thank you for some of that Community Building we’ve talked about in the past.
That brought our total to $12.63 or $2.53 a person. After the tip, it came closer to $3.60 a person, but still not bad at all. Now the extra frugal part was we only order waters when we go. Would we have gone without the gift card? Maybe, but probably not this week.
Did you find a way to be frugal this week? Let me know in the comments.
