Yeah every week I try to keep myself in a conscious effort of making frugal choices that I might otherwise have slipped up on without this series. We already save eating out for special occasions or rare days when we don’t want to cook. We always strive to be budget aware and look for affordable solutions that can buy quality instead of cheaper throw away options.
When you live with a frugal mindset it can seem like grasping at straws to find something newly frugal to do each week and then talk about it. I did at least one frugal thing this week, but it’s a little morbid and I wasn’t sure about posting it here. As my previous posts may have implied we lost one of our pets this week to old age.
In the past we have cremated our animals, but a few years back we moved into my Grandfather’s house. The house I grew up in where all my childhood pets have a small graveyard by the back tree line. My wife suggested cremation, but this is my forever house with no plans on moving. I spent most of yesterday working on making a box and digging in the yard. The kids are having a rough week too, the cat was older than two of them.
Next week, I’m hoping our quarterly meal prep happens and I’m planning a long post of that.
