This week has kind of flown by, but there were a few things that caught my attention. We’ve sort of developed into a place where everyone has air conditioning these days, and after I spent eight years in South Carolina, trust me, it’s needed.

In both winter and summer, I try to stress to my children that it’s vital to acclimate to the weather outside by making yourself less comfortable inside. It lets your body get used to heat and cold so you become less miserable when you have to go anywhere or do yard work outside.

This week we had a small tornado hit the city again, but it was much less of an ordeal than the one a few weeks back. It brought with it some really nice weather. Nice enough that the wife and I turned off the AC and have had the windows open all week. Which will be really nice for that electric bill.

Sometimes frugality can be as simple as making sure you turn the lights off and open a window.
