Where do I even start? Starting a blog off the ground is great, if you enjoy writing and reading. Articles are fun to post and share. You see your friends and family check it out and views go up. Then the politeness of checking in on the site fades and you’re suddenly at one or two views day. I know the content is solid, but how do I drive traffic?
The answer is of course social media. Facebook, X, YouTube, a million websites for a million niches, and the flood of choices and information is so fast that you blink and it disappears. How many people are going to click that “link in bio” in a tiktok profile? Not very many, but that one click that helps one person learn something new or show interest in what I’ve written. That’s pretty awesome. How bad is it trying to launch a website that wears its heart on its sleeve? Oh, it can be a headache. Every day I write a post here, tweet/X about it, make a note on Substack about it, thread it, and make a Facebook post.
When that’s done I post comments on relevant Facebook groups and other X accounts, because that’s the only way people will ever see you without paying for ads or verification, and some days it’s amazing. $350 grocery budget = tons of traffic to the blog. Most days, it’s 1 or 2… so far. I live in optimism here at Mini Thoughts. These are growing pains. Sometimes it’s fun and sometimes it feels like a second job. But I have faith that the hard work will pay off.
That was a long intro to get into the nitty gritty of making a new “brand” because you have to “copyright” yourself in the day of AI scrapers and internet bots. So let’s look at all the places we could make accounts to potentially get more viewers:
| Platform | Platform | Platform | Platform |
|---|---|---|---|
| X | YouTube | Substack | |
| Patreon | Threads | ||
| Tiktok | Bluesky | ||
| Truth Social | Tumblr | Snapchat | Medium |
| Quora | Spotify | Twitch | Kick |
| Rumble | Google News | LinkTree | Discord |
That’s 24 accounts and that’s just where you can post content, not even the sites that can be used to manage content, which I feel are almost mandatory if you want to produce appropriate reach.
Then you need the logins to places that help you manage this stuff:
| Provider | Provider | Provider | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bluehost | Squarespace | Metricool | Buffer |
| Later |
That’s 29 logins, and I might not even have found all the best places to self market. The real question is do you need that to make a successful website in 2026? Well you probably do need most of that if you want to expedite your organic growth with a $0.00 marketing budget.
Unless you write a post about chicken soup and Google throws you at the top of page 1 then 99% of people are never going to leave their favorite ecosystem to find you without social media.
Here’s the trick though. Rome wasn’t built in a day. There’s no rush. I make an account so my name is held. I make a list so I know my current status and I post when time allows, or whenever I figure out these simultaneous posting sites. Automation is my friend in this day and age. I can’t have a snowball growth series without automating my investments, so why wouldn’t I automate my hooks back to the blog?
I’m here to build financial freedom through passive income. All passive income requires active income first. So I’m going to keep pushing forward and posting everywhere I can. Oh, and before I forget, some of those are in The Toolbox and some are in the Socials Links in the Header. Join me on my journey and never miss a post.
