It has been a week since the wedding and giving the kids a break for the first week of summer break. Now it’s time to get caught up on the house.
I’m not sure if other large families have this issue, but we alternate between getting the laundry completely sorted and put away for a few weeks, to then having piles of washed and separated clothes for another few weeks.
It is probably a lack of discipline on my part, but laundry can get exhausting. Kids take turns each weekend on who does clothes and they get to pick dinner one night that week. It usually works out well, until a trip, or overnight medical things come up (like my mother-in-law). Who is healing well; by the way, most of the issues were tied to a reaction to the pain meds not from the surgery.
Anyway we call it a “laundry party” where all the clean clothes get piled into the living room and we sort as a family before everyone goes to put their clothes away. Wish me luck.
