I missed a post last week, so more Atlas Earth Math!

Well, I want to apologize — I got really busy, completely missed posting over Labor Day, and then didn’t post Frugal Friday. I also spent half of Saturday writing this post while a thunderstorm interrupted my yard work.

That last part will be a bit shocking, as I ended up deleting the vast majority of what I originally wrote. The long and short of it is that the math from Atlas Earth wasn’t making much sense to me as the multipliers dropped across tiers. I kept coming up with numbers where you endd up with less money per month every time you jump up a bracket. I thought that I had uncovered some secret loophole by attempting to convert all of my initial 150 lands to Legendary status before buying any more lands. However, that endeavor would have taken years to accomplish as a free to play person and really didn’t make sense they would design it that way.

That is until I researched how the twice-monthly super boost works. It gives you roughly 48-64 hours of a 50x boost total per month no matter how much land you own (up to their advertised cap of 150,000 parcels, which only one player in the world has ever surpassed). That 50x boost applied to the second tier cap of 220 parcels is how out pays the150-parcel tier — even though 150 parcels spends most of the month at 30x.

I’m so glad I did all this math myself, and then figured out how to use the official game calculator at https://atlasearthcalculator.com/ Assuming 48 hours of super boost, it tells you the exact tier threshholds where you should hold off on buying more land. Surprisingly, it doesn’t give you a gap larger than 200 parcels (the amount of AB needed to max your passport bonus) until you hit 1,100 parcels, though there might be value in the passport levels in between. Moving Forward, I guess I’ll just follow the calculator!

Anyway, that’s been my weekend of trying to build up another passive income stream.
