I like to watch this guy – “ernietheplutus” on TikTok. It’s his only official platform and he has dozens of copycat accounts trying to scam you, but he talks a lot about finance. One of the things that I enjoy most about his content is that when he recommends books he tells you to go to the library instead of buying them.

He’s the person that got me started on learning about Covered Calls and Cash Secured Puts. Anyway, one of his biggest things about finding the money to invest when you are on a tight budget or low income is to declutter your house through selling things on Facebook Marketplace.

Here’s the issue… I’ve had a good condition printer and a really nice nightstand that I cleaned up and put new knobs on up for almost a month without a single message regarding them. I am on board with getting the clutter down; I’m a fan of selling off things I don’t want anymore, but I don’t have time to run a whole garage sale for a weekend.

My hope was to maintain five or so postings and work incrementally through things in the house, but I can’t even sell one so far. It’s rather frustrating. I’m also open to other side hustle suggestions.

I think there’s easily a few thousand dollars worth of things I don’t want or need to hold on to, but it’s the selling that’s the hardest part.
