This week, our frugality involved our meal prep. So many meals for around $800. I don’t think I worked out the exact math, but $800 divided by 120 meals is $6.67 per meal. That’s $1.33 per person in our family of five.

Now, a frugal — but slightly less so — thing is that today we are celebrating a birthday. I decided that instead of going out to a restaurant we would cook steaks at home. Sam’s Club hides the top sirloin roasts behind the counter in the butcher shop, and they’ll even cut them into steaks for you free of charge. This netted us 12 10.6-ounce steaks for $78. That’s $6.50 each! We’re also having mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, and broccoli — two of which were bought during the meal prep. And the kicker: that’s to feed 11 people!
