It’s been roughly six months since I started this project. So far, I feel like things have gone pretty well. The website has over twenty subscribers, my X account has over 1,100 followers, and — if you remember the Social Media post – I’ve definitely either given up or just not found the time to try and manage 24 accounts to generate more blog traffic.
Between work and family time, I think those avenues require more of a time commitment than I can currently justify. Google Ads has generated about $2.50 which is very low and is unlikely to reach the $100 payout in time to help fund the cost of website hosting. However, it is an avenue of passive income that only works if I can get traffic up.
Outside of realizing that one post a day was just forcing me to write weak, small blurbs with no real content, I also haven’t made any new videos for the YouTube experiment in almost two months. It does, however, have 27 subscribers and one-third of the valid public watch hours needed to monetize.

Spotify has more watch hours for the videos, but it now requires the watch time for monetization to be within a 30 day sliding window. I think that both of these avenues could be valuable paths if I had more time to commit to them.
I believe that currently, my primary focus needs to be on prioritizing better dividends picks, low-effort secondary income streams (FreeCash), and debt repayment. Once my HELOC balance is covered and I can pay off the car loan, I’ll free up well over $1,000 a month that can go toward more investments. Here’s to six more months of fun!
