Passive Income is something that has always been designed to ramp up. Dividends, rental income, website ads, or social media monetization; they all have to start small and grow over time.
This blog was the start for me of creating simultaneous potential income streams. If you’re an explorer, you’ve probably seen the buttons at the top of each page. See below.
Most of these have been quietly added without me making any kind of fuss or announcement, but I think it’s time to cover them. I briefly talked about the massive amount of accounts you need to beat the fast paced environment of social media but wait there’s more. At the same time that I activated the blog website I started a youtube channel with the goal of monetization. That YouTube channel is linked in the YouTube button on each page.
Soothing Long Audio is a channel dedicated to long form sleep and background sound videos. I’m about a month into this project, well 7 weeks is closer to two months, but I’m very happy with its success so far. 334 watch hours is about 11% of the way to the 3000 watch hours needed for monetization. If it stays at this trajectory, the hope is to reach monetization before end of 2026. It’s also available as a podcast on Spotify and on Rumble. Sadly Rumble has almost zero watch time, but Spotify is at 73 watch hours.
Now here’s where it gets confusing. There is also a Mini Thoughts YouTube here: (Link). It also has a TikTok, and an Instagram. The goal of these pages is to produce short videos in the informational style of the blog on short form video platforms to hopefully increase blog traffic. A lot of time has to go into making those, and they have sat a little on the back burner.
I’m sure we all know how viral monetization can go on these places, but I don’t want to be an on video influencer so that limits me in reach, so what other options are there? Facebook and X.
Facebook, above, locks the requirements behind checking on mobile, but it’s something crazy like 10,000 followers for certain monetization. X on the other hand requires a verified account, 500 verified followers, and 5 million impressions in 90 days. I think these fall somewhere in haze between passive and active income as you have to engage to meet ongoing requirements.
Not bad for just a few weeks of engagement. The Grind continues.
