A while back, Olive Garden put every single recipe they had on their website for you to make at home. It’s kind of great. You can still access these via the Wayback Machine. No copycat recipes; this is the real thing, posted by the actual company.
We like to make this for every meal prep and freeze it, usually in jars. This time, we ended up using Souper Cubes. Now, generally speaking this would involve the entire amount making it into the freezer; however, this was my meal pick for Father’s Day, so some of what we made got eaten. We ended up with 12 cups worth of sauce frozen, but we fed nine people, and my mother took about a cup of sauce home as well.
| Item | Quantity | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Heavy Whipping Cream | 2 | $4.59 ($9.18) |
| 1 Dozen Eggs | 3 | $1.46 ($4.38) |
| Parmesan Romano Shaker | 4 | $2.98 ($11.92) |
| Total | $25.48 |
This comes out to roughly $2.13 per cup from our frozen portions. The cost would have been priced better without eating so much yesterday, but I wanted to write down the one item we got done on our meal prep this past weekend.
